Renting vs buying – which is right for you?

Renting makes sense for most local moves. You get the boxes delivered, use them for up to two months, and we collect them when you are done. No storage headaches, no cardboard to recycle. Buying is worth considering if you are going into storage for an extended period, shipping belongings overseas, or simply prefer to keep the boxes.

Frequently Asked Questions – Moving Boxes

How many moving boxes will I need?

A studio or one-bedroom home typically needs 30 medium boxes and 10 large boxes. A two to three bedroom home may need 45 medium and 20 large. Our moving packages are designed around these guides. Give us a call if you would like help estimating.

What's the difference between single-wall and double-wall boxes?

Single-wall boxes are lighter and suitable for less fragile items or short-term storage. Double-wall boxes have an extra layer of corrugated cardboard which makes them stronger and better suited for heavier items and longer moves. We recommend double-wall for most household moves.

How long can I rent moving boxes for?

Box rental is available for up to two months from the date of delivery. Extensions beyond two months can be arranged – contact us to discuss.

Can I mix boxes and plastic crates in my order?

Yes. Many customers use a combination of plastic crates for general household items and cardboard wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes. You can customise your order on our Order page or call us and we will put together the right mix for your move.
